Grocer

Met R the day after I returned from Taiwan! ^^ Missed the boy while I was overseas hehee so a random spontaneous day of meet up! A day of traveling (so many places) just to shop for groceries - for our picnic the next day!

Went all the way to Jurong Point cos I wanted to go to somewhere in the West and JP was far enough. The mall was so crowded, Sunday crowds are intimidating and I hate crowds :x Circled JP a few rounds and there weren't anything much!! Finally decided that we shall go to AMK Hub, they have a huge NTUC there as well! So off we go. hehe but the crowd at AMK NTUC was so crazy we could hardly push our trolley around and walk freely, so no mood to shop for groceries either. Oh but we had a lovely slice of blueberry cheesecake at The Coffee Bean to satisfy my cake cravings! Om nom :) After that we decided to head to Thomson Plaza's NTUC that's usually empty - and it really was phew :D Went outside of AMK Hub and saw bubbles!! Christmas has arrived everybodehhh. So of course we spammed a few shots ;) hehe

I love bubbles! :D

The next day: Picnic day @ Botanical Gardens!

Seaweed chips, tuna sandwiches, ham and egg sandwiches, Broccoli w chicken cubes, Tai yang bing, Pokka Green tea - sumptuous meal! heheehe

Love this!

And this!

Wonderful time picnic-ing by the swan lake. Watching lots of swans, mandarin ducks, pigeons surround us. Kind of scary though hahaha. But lovely company and sweet sweet boyfriend ^^ Faster left BG before the rain arrived and headed to Bugis!

Caught Life of Pi at Bugis Shaw :D The cinema is really really cold! But I quite like this cinema, seems to be always empty one! Shopped around for a bit after the movie, tried to find Chrismas presents (to no avail). Then R brought me to Maison Ikkuko! One of the cafes in our checklist! Hee

Red Velvet slice w walnuts!

A cuppa Mocha!

Then we headed to the National library to search for some books before our dinner at Ah Loy Thai! :D

Om nom, but the Tom Yum soup was really spicy I became slightly cranky after thattt.

Then, homebound!

Taiwan 2012

11 December - 15 December

11.12.12

Arrived at Taipei and it was raining! Rainy day = Cold cold weather, especially when our first day itinerary is to Jiu Fen, high altitude mountainous area in Taipei! Shall let the pictures do most talking - accumulated over 700 photos in the 5 days!

Raindrops in taiwan is really fine, you definitely wont get as wet as when you're in Singapore. But the winds at Taiwan ~woosh~ loving the 13dc temperatures!

Strong waves slamming the rocks

Lovely siblings!

Dramatic rock pushing shot with Dad

Family shot with the mist and clouds :D

OOTD - all bundled up for the cold weather!

Visited this Japanese themed cottage - historic homes

the tree behind me looks incredibly fake! But it's real and already over hundred years

Arrived at Jiu Fen :) Taro balls at Jiu Fen were so good, craving nowww.

Had intended to visit the Shi Fen waterfall, but the bridge was under construction so no waterfall for me :(

Off to Shifen/Pingxi to release Tian Deng!

On the bridge!

Had our late lunch at this restaurant that serves local Taiwan dishes (think: Wild vegetables, Kampong chickens etc)

After meal fruits shopping!! Their fruits all look so big and fresh I swear.

Time to head back to our hotel! We stayed in the middle of ximending, movie district!

Hotel B6. Settled down, rested, and then off we go for dinner/tour around xmd!

Ah Zong mee sua!

perfect for the cold weather :))

A long and tiring day one, down. But totally enjoyed myself I love outskirt areas!

Took Taiwan's version of MRT!

After we had our stomachs filled, we walked to Sun-Yat Sen memorial hall that was pretty nearby!

With Taipei 101 as backdrop heehe

Next destination - Wu Fen pu!

Wholesale shopping done here :) But we didn't do much shopping throughout the whole trip. Focus is on exploring I guess!

Spent the night at Raohe Night Market!

And that night we tried... smelly tofu >< HAHA smelly indeed.

50 Lan - known as Koi in Singapore. The bubble tea didn't amaze me leh! I think I prefer Singapore's version of bbt :b

13.12.12

Day 3 was Xiao Ren Guo day! It was located far off Taipei , but we got there in a maxi cab that could fit 8 of us!

Watched their cultural performance!

It was a really hot day, sunny sunny.

Hungry kois.

Internal train service within XRG.

Amusement park area!

Ferris Wheel

Basically Xiao Ren Guo had nothing much there, completed the whole place in approximately 2 hours? Quite a dead town actually! Took a bus ride back to Taipei

Went to SOGO and had our lunch there :)
After that we headed to Shilin Night Market for the night!

Stunning sky

Then it was time to say goodbye to Taiwan! :'(

Really slipshod short and skeletal post but I'm tired and lazy from uploading the photos so that's all for nowww tata xx.
