Travelogue Part VII: Day 15 - 17 (Rome)

For our train ride from Florence to Roma, we took the NTV! The prettiest train imo :D

The silly me booked tickets to Roma Tiburtina instead of Roma Termini *le sigh* and panicked for a good while, thank goodness it was easily solved - just take another train to reach Roma Termini, then we have to take bus H to our b&b apartment!

The Rome b&b apartment we had originally booked had some problem and the host cancelled on us like two days before we were there (travel horrors), thankfully we easily found another apartment and I think it's as chio as the one we initially booked!

We stayed in the area of Trastevere! After depositing our luggages it was time to just head out and tour around~

Went into this random Kalamari store, and ate this mixed seafood tempura thingy - yummy! I loved those prawns teehee

Sorry for this blur shot, but this is one of the alley you turn into at Trastevere and there's a lot of good food here I reckon :)

We had a mid-day (i think it was around 4pm) snack, lasagna - R tried it the other time he was at Rome, and boy it was delicious! :D The house wine was not so good though, siap siappp.

Off we go!

Crossed one of the bridges, i think that's ponte sisto!

And we walked and walked and walked

A marketplace which has closed by the time we got there

Piazza Navona!

When we walked till this place, it was around 5 plus. My stomach suddenly hurt SO MUCH. but they were in waves of pain which stopped and started repeatedly. I thought I could tahan but I couldnt D: Told R about it and he decided that we should head back to our b&b. I didn't want to, because we had plans to go elsewhere and settle our dinner outside etc, didn't want to be such a burden :( I also didn't know if I needed to poop or what, but in any case I've this ~weird~ habit of only pooping at toilets which I deem 'home'. In another words, I do not like pooping in public toilets :'( troublesome is me. So then we started to make our way back to our b&b, by foot. HAHA. So i just googled-mapped for directions and the shortest possible route takes approximately 30 minutes to walk from piazza navona to trastevere.

It was the longest walk of my life. HAHAHAHA. I remembered R said this at least a thousand times to me: "Dear yao dao le, yao dao le" *faints* the pain was...... unbelievably pain. No idea how I survived it but I walked back with this stomach hurting like crap. I applaud myself :D HAHAHA.

So anyhow we had to miss dinner that night and I felt so bad for R, who only survived the night with half a lasagne we shared earlier that evening :/ Luckily, after a night of rest I was feeling a lot better the next morning

Breakfast prepared by the hosts!

Today was the tour-Rome-landmarks day!

Crossed the tiber island!

Queuing to get tickets for the Roman Forum and Colosseum, super long queue!

Colosseum and Arc of Constantine!

The list of architectures

Because R liked the pillars.. Hahaha #badphotographer

After walking through the Roman Forum we got a little hungry - decided to go for lunch first before we visit the Colosseum!

Lunch!

Tried this pizza well-loved by locals. Enjoyed it!

And our mushroom fettucine, super bad lighting oops.

Walked to the Trevi Fountain nearby after lunch!

It's so pretty!

We also tossed some coins into the fountain :3 make a wish!

Long legs R!

Hehe piggu.

Then we walked past the Piazzale venezia! Super majestic in gorgeous white, Italy flag flying high.

After that we headed back to visit the Colosseum! :D

Love love.

Took so many photos!

Walking back in the direction of our b&b. Tiber island again, and gelato to end the day of sightseeing!

Super goooood :D

For dinner, we headed back to the same restaurant we visited on the first day of Rome (lasagne). Had some pizza and chicken, with white wine this time round!

Panna Cotta and Tiramisu to end the day hehehe :D

Back to our b&b for the night, movie in bed and a bag of chips! WHEEE. day 02 of Rome down.

The next day we had breakfast as usual and then headed out!

Saw more bridges

Walking to St Peters Basilica!

Saw this random water fountain that says SPA - R's favourite brand of water hehee

Reached! Roman architectures are so so magnificent and elaborated.

Along the streets of Italy, there are a lot of street peddlers. Most of them sell the same things! There's this 'weeeeeh' toy that they were all selling which we saw throughout our entire trip in Italy - regretted not getting some of those back, think they will be very good souvenirs and memories of how the streets in Europe sounded like hahaha! But then again, we were afraid of approaching those peddlers cos they seem to target and try to rip tourists off :(

Then we walked back to Piazza Navona! The place where I had stomachache the first day. :p

Then to the Pantheon!

On our way back we saw a couple getting married! Hahah and the cute pumpkin carriages they have

Lunch time!

Meatball Lasagne and roasted chicken with potatoes! We also ordered moscato thinking that it'd be the awesome dessert wine but no :( High alcohol content this one.

After lunch we headed back to our b&b to collect our luggages and then off to the airport we go!

Next flight destination: Nice, France (!!!!!)
